Big Post Game Show in Texas

Points battle tightens up!

August 24, 2012 – The Long Haul Bombers and the Stadium Power Tour points battle got a bit tighter Friday night in Texas. The Bombers hit post game at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, in front of a massive crowd. DeMarini’s Kevin Filby blasted out some massive upper deck show bombs before a crowd of 45,823. “I have never hit in front of this many people, in such a beautiful ball park, you could feel such energy, and the crowd was into it. To win it tonight on the money ball was amazing.” Filby sent the money ball sailing out of the park, to top Lee Powers on the last pitch of the day.

Final Results from Texas:
Kevin Filby, DeMarini: 10 points
Lee Powers, Louisville: 9 points
Chris Larsen,DeMarini: 7
Johnny McCraw, Combat:  6 points
Tim Cocco and Brandon Perry were injured and did not hit.

On Sunday, August 26, the Bombers hit in a pre-game show at legendary Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

Team Miken, Easton and DeMarini will hit for the final regular season event.

In the battle for the Manufactures cup, Team Easton has a 17 point lead over Team Miken. A new team champion will emerge Sunday in LA.

Big weekend for the Long Haul Bombers

Two stops on the Stadium Power Tour!

August 23, 2012 – The Long Haul Bombers have two events this weekend, with big Stadium Power Tour points implications. Friday night August 24, the Bombers hit in Texas, at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. It’s a post game, pre-firework show. Team Combat, Louisville Slugger and DeMarini battle to make the finals.

On Sunday August 26, the Bombers hit in a pre-game show at legendary Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Team Miken, Easton and DeMarini are on deck.

The final two events will have a big impact on what 6 bombers make the finals of the Stadium Power Tour.

The finals are set for Sunday September 16 at the new Miami Marlins Ballpark.

In the battle for the Manufactures cup, Team Easton has a 17 point lead over Team Miken.

We are ready crown a new team champion after the event Sunday in Los Angeles.

Big Hits, Record Ratings for Softball 360

August 20, 2012 – The Long Haul Bombers and the Stadium Power Tour are heading for home, with the final regular season events this week. Friday, August 24 at The Rangers Ballpark in Arlington and Sunday, August 26 at LA’s Dodger Stadium. The Finals of the Stadium Power Tour are set for Sunday, September 16 in Miami.

Easton’s Brett Helmer and Miken’s Denny Crine are in lead, and will square off  in LA on Sunday. Many Bombers are on the bubble to make the top six sports an advanceto the finals. Team Easton is on top of the race for the Manufactures cup. But the final standings could all change, after this weekends events.

The national TV show “Softball 360” has also been a big hit. The show is available in 93 million households across North America and TV ratings for the show have been impressive. According to syndication director Curt Pires, more than a half million viewers tune in each week. “Our research show, slightly more than 550,000 households are watching each episode of “Softball 360”  this year and that’s a record number of viewers.“

“Softball 360”  also runs as a pre-game show on a group of regional sports networks that televise local MLB teams.The RSN’s  include NESN, (Boston Red Sox ) MASN, (Orioles) CSN Chicago, (Cubs) CSN Philadelphia ( Phillies), Altitude Sports Colorado,  Root Sports Pittsburgh & Detroit (Pirates and Tigers ) and SportsTime Ohio (Indians).

In the New England area, “Softball 360“ airs on the New England Sports Network, before the Boston Red sox games. In July, “Softball 360” hit a ratings home run, Pires says the ratings are huge. “The 0.58 rating for “Softball 360”  on NESN on July 13 is a big number, that’s 250,000 viewers,  just in their region for the one episode “

Long Haul Bombers add power to Fireworks Night at Target Field, Crine Leads Twins Post Game show!

Minneapolis, MN – August 10, 2012 – Denny Crine capped fireworks night at Target Field with some soaring softball homers from his Miken bat. Crine led the 9th stop on the Stadium Power Tour with 9 points.

A crowd of 38,108 saw some massive upper deck blasts, at one of the best new parks in the bigs.

Crine, a two time champ on the Stadium Power Tour was happy to come out on top, but was hoping for a better night at the plate. “I wanted to show this big crowd an even bigger home run show, while they seemed enjoyed it, I was hoping to send a few more Evil softballs out of the park.”

The post game crowd witnessed a tight home run derby. Dustin Roberts of Team Gordie, Ed Vega of Team Miken and Chris Larsen of Team DeMarini tied with 6 points each. Larsen knows he has to hit better to make the finals. “We had a great crowd tonight and they were into it, we could hear ’em cheering, but we all know we are capable of blasting more out, I’ve had better days on the field and will step it up in Texas.“

Showdown in Cleveland

Crine and Helmer Go Deep at Progressive Field!

August 6, 2012 – Cleveland, OH -The Long Haul Bombers 8th stop in Cleveland provided plenty of power and drama. Stadium Power Tour team leaders Easton and Miken hit in a showdown before the Indians & Twins Game.

Miken’s Denny Crine and Easton’s Brett Helmer tied for the lead with 11 points. It came down to the last pitch of the night, as Crine blasted the money ball to tie Helmer.  Later Crine reflected on a night that saw the points battle tighten up, this ball park proved to be a challenge. “This is a beautiful ball park, it’s also a challenging park to hit in, but we did well, and Miken is back in the race.”

Crine’s teammate Ed “The Kid“ Vega turned in a solid night with 8 points, many upper deck show bombs, as he tied rookie Jason Baxtex of Team Gordie. Baxter admitted his nerves were on fire. “I was feeling it, batting with the Bombers, in Cleveland, it’s hard not to be charged up, I’m looking forward to hitting Friday night in Minneapolis at Target Field.“

Helmer still leads the tour, but heading into the finals, it can be anyone or any teams game.

“Mighty“ Mike Macenko in the middle

Earlier in the day, The Long Haul Bombers took batting practice with a softball legend. “Mighty“ Mike Macenko came out to Parma as the Bombers warmed up. Macenko was a home run hitting pioneer for Steele Sports in the 1990’s.

“Softball has evolved for sure, but these Long Haul Bombers are taking the tradition to the next level, it feels good to hit with them, they have what it takes .”

The Stadium Power Tour travels to Minneapolis, home of the Minnesota Twins for a post game slugfest at Target Field, Friday night August 10.

Crine comes out on top in Atlanta

July 27, 2012 –  Atlanta GA – Denny Crine lead the Long Haul Bombers with 12 points on the Stadium Power Tour stop Friday night at Turner Field. Crine’s Miken team mate Ed “The Kid“ Vega also had a great night at the plate and tied for second with 11 points. Vega and Crine both blasted several, massive upper deck shots before the Braves & Phillies game.

Lee Powers from Team Louisville tied for second with 11 points and stays in the hunt to qualify for the finals in Miami.

Atlanta is softball country. A large crowd turned out to see the Bombers and lined up for autographs afterwards. Frank Harris and his wife Jill drove up from Macon Georgia to see the show. “These guys are amazing, I had to bring my wife to see the show, no one hits homers like the Bombers, they blast ‘em a country mile! “.

Miken combined 23 points sets up a showdown next week in Cleveland.  Miken goes “one on one”  against  Stadium Power Tour Leaders Easton at Progressive Field Monday, August 6. Crine is eager for the showdown in Cleveland. “Kid and I are ready to take out game right to Easton, they got off to an early lead, but now we have a chance to challenge”.
