Big home run blasts were the story on round three of the Stadium Power Tour, before the Rays and Baltimore Orioles game Sunday afternoon.
Rookie Lee Powers of Team Louisville powered for 10 points and tied veteran Brian Wegman of Team Easton. Wegman just returned from a softball ambassador trip to Korea, visiting US Armed Forces. “It was great sharing softball with our troops. But it’s fantastic to be back home on the Stadium Power Tour. I was impressed with Lee Powers, it’s proof how deep the talent level is on the tour. But you can count on Easton and Brett Helmer to be at the top of the standings when the dust settles .”
Team Easton, Team Louisville and “Team Gordie” and Suncoast Reebok with Jeff Wallace and Dustin Roberts made their debut.
Rookie Dustin Roberts of “Team Gordie” hammered out Evil Softballs, many into the upper deck of the Trop. Roberts a US Coast Guard veteran, was swinging for softball legend Gordie “The Old Scout“ Heagle. “It’s an honor to help out Gordie, the man has done so much for the sport of softball “.
